Dr. Katie Wampler

Artistic Director

Dr. Wampler began as Associate Professor of Communication and Theatre at Indiana Wesleyan in the fall of 2011. She has directed “Tuesdays with Morrie,” “The Glass Menagerie,” “Pygmalion,” “The Secret Garden,” and “The Crucible.” Dr. Wampler has directed other college and university productions including “Fear and Misery,” “Steel Magnolias,” and “Fairy Tale Barnyard” (a children’s production), and devised in collaboration with other university students two original performances, “Framed Reflections” and “Caution: Our Children at Work.”

Dr. Steven Wood

Technical Director

Dr. Steve Wood is happy to be back in Indiana after living in several states over the past 20 years. Dr. Wood has an undergraduate degree in Theology from Baptist Bible College (PA), a Master’s degree in Theatre from Bowling Green State University (OH), and a Ph.D. in Design and Directing from Texas Tech University. He and his wife Nicole have two kids and live in Marion. His favorite drama: Bertolt Brecht’s “The Caucasian Chalk Circle.” Favorite tragedy: William Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” Favorite musical: “Les Misérables.” Favorite comedy: Molière’s “The Miser.” Favorite movie: “Star Wars Episode 4: The Empire Strikes Back.” Favorite animated movie: “Beauty and the Beast.” Favorite TV show: “The Walking Dead.” Favorite superhero: Superman.

Ryan Akers

Scene Shop Foreman

Ryan has worked for the IWU Theatre for about three years. While at IWU, he has designed sets for “Medea” and “Doubt”, co-designed sets for “Romeo and Juliet” and “Little Women,” and designed lighting for “Little Women.” He has constructed sets for “The Diviners,” “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” “The Curious Savage,” “Medea,” “Where Fortunes Lie,” “Doubt,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Talley’s Folly,” and “Little Women.”
